IMG4 Consortium
IMG4 is a joint industry consortium created to develop the fourth generation of simulation-based machinery for monitoring production processes. The IMG4 consortium consists of eight high-tech companies and six academic research groups is sponsored by the Israeli Ministry of Trade and Industry through the MAGNET (Generic Pre-Competitive Technologies and Research and Development) program. The IMG4 consortium lead by Applied Materials features a unique corporation between industry leaders such as CogniTens, Orbotech, KLA , Nova, Spectral Imaging and Tevet coming from different fields, all make decisions based on simulation and design data of components. The combined forces of these companies make it possible to deal with the considerable technological challenges related to this domain.
CogniTens is a full member of the IMG4 consortium leading key research and development activities in the area of CAD based program setup creation. This will significantly reduce the time and complexity of creating the setup program, reduce the need for experts which are hard to find at customer sites and eventually result in better programs with improved system performance.
