As part of its latest software version 3.72, CogniTens is extending its 3D digitizing and reverse engineering capabilities to include a fully integrated STL generation process powered by InnovMetric’s PolyWorks/Modeler™ engine. With this latest addition, CogniTens Optigo and OptiCell systems allow users to automatically transform non-contact shop floor measurements into high quality polygonal meshes.

The FOV 12 lenses are designed for surface measurement of large objects such as die castings. With extended field of view the measurement and digitizing of surfaces can be substantially accelerated.

New metrology capability introduced in CogniTens software version 3.71 based on unique 2D and 3D optical measurement technology. This new module Includes a set of tools which allows effortless definition, measurement and real time analysis of continuous edge lines on measured parts and assemblies. Measured edge lines can be quickly compared to CAD data for analyzing deviations or exported to 3rd party software for supporting detailed engineering studies.

Optigo 200 RE is a new measurement system which incorporates new technology and software introduced to Optigo as an optional operation mode. This new product is optimized for reverse engineering oriented applications and 3D modeling. Together with the existing stereo vision technology these two surface measurement technologies offer optimal shop floor performance alongside with optimal surface data quality.

This new development allows generating high quality STL / point cloud outputs with emphasis on surface smoothness, tight geometry tracking, crisp closed features, etc. These outputs can be easily exported to various reverse engineering, dimensional analysis and other software products such as: Geomagic, Polyworks, Metrologic, Tebis, Rapidform, etc.

New software product for transforming raw dimensional information collected by 3rd party measurement systems into meaningful CoreView format results. This will allow customers wishing to standardize on CogniTens software products (CoreView Pro, OptiPlan and the Dimensional Domain Server) to integrate their other measurement results into a single managed process. A new software product which runs on a central server and designed to fit into customers’ common & proprietary dimensional business processes. It interfaces with all CogniTens products including Optigo, OptiCell, CoreView Pro, OptiPlan and others. It provides a secure and managed environment to automatically collect, store and manage dimensional information (plans, results, reports, etc) generated across the organization and make it available for end users in real time.

CoreView Master Part is breakthrough software product in the Dimensional Metrology domain. It promotes an innovative strategy for part development, approval for manufacturing and dimensional process control during mass production. It allows transforming multiple dimensional measurement results into a virtual Master Part by adjusting measurement and evaluation criteria based on dimensional expertise and functional build methodologies. The generated virtual master part can than be used as a comparison and qualification reference when reviewing and analyzing future measurement results.

The Airtex is a new optional accessory to the existing Optigo Beetex and Vertex accessories. Airtex offers maximum operational flexibility designed for specific use in tool and die shops as well as in assembly lines and other industrial settings. The Airtex is an air suspended device attached to a ceiling or a mobile overhead crane allowing the use of Optigo in environments with restricted accessibility to the measured objects.

New optional kit and software support from Version 3.6 for use during Optigo edge point measurements (trim & hem). This allows a faster process for measuring full part edges and permits using large field of view while maintaining high accuracy and reliability. The patent pending kit includes various types of magnetically attached retro-reflective sheets serving as background for the edge measurements.   

Added support for Small Field of View lenses in the Optigo Calibration & Certification Kit. This kit allows conducting periodical system calibration tests in customer locations. This is required to certify the system accuracy and traceability to NIST / VDE approved standards for industrial metrology systems. The CCK now supports all Optigo available fields of views.

New capability introduced in Version 3.6 to the Optigo software and CoreView Pro which supports the process of virtual clearance verification for matching dies. These improvements allow a user to measure the upper and lower die parts in open position using Optigo and visualize the expected clearance / collision in their closed position using the surface deviation analysis tool in CoreView Pro and guide rework activities if required.

Introduced OptiCell software improvements in Version 3.6 to support the use of multiple alignment sets for the same part being measured. This allows to automatically generate meaningful measurement results using multiple alignment setups without the need to re-measure the part.

New capability introduced to CoreView Pro in Version 3.6 making it possible to save visual SPC analysis on multiple measurement results including differences and graphs in a single file. This information could be easily communicated to any other CoreView Pro user.

A new industrial scale computing platform now serves CogniTens systems. CogniTens latest software version was designed to best benefit from Intel’s multi-core technology. The new system hardware configuration is optimized to provide high performance of both OptiCell and Optigo.

Introduced software improvements in Version 3.6 to accelerate and simplify the OptiCell teach process by:

1. Extending alignment methods based on fixture targets
2. Allowing higher flexibility in carrying out a non continuous teach & program approval for automated measurement
3. Improved support for using automated part holding devices
4. Automatic errors handling shortening overall process

New software module introduced in Version 3.6 to Optigo / OptiCell software, OptiPlan and Off-Line Measurement.
 
This new module supports the following data preparation activities:
1.Previewing a CAD input before loading
2.Editing a CAD input before loading (deleting areas/layers, mirroring, scaling, rotating, relocating, etc)
3.Defining multiple CAD offsets for various applications including single sided CAD handling.

Introduced new software and electronic components to monitor the systems’ illumination sources in order to further extend system stability and life expectancy. This allows automatic detection and real-time correction of illumination issues and makes it possible to effectively plan for maintenance sessions based on actual system status.

New tool introduced in Version 3.6 providing quick visualization of measured edge deviations from the design intent. This new capability allows analyzing possible cause for visible gaps and supports trimming / hemming tuning as well as other applications.   

Introduced solution support for the common industry standard for dimensional measurement definition based on XML technology. This allows to export Optigo & OptiCell measurement results to various DML (Dimensional Markup Language) supported software applications and other metrology systems. 

Introduced solution support for interfacing with the Tebis leading CAD/CAM software for supporting Die related applications such as die duplication, NC machining optimization, archiving and so on.
