In 2003, HIROTEC AMERICA joined with industry leader CogniTens, to develop a measurement solution based on the CogniTens OptiCell. The Opticell was specifically tuned to the needs of the automotive BIW assemblies. The joint collaboration of the two companies resulted in the development of the I3 Measurement Cell. The I3 Measurement Cell was developed to incorporate all the advantages of the CogniTens 3D Non-Contact Dimensional Measurement technology into an industrial cell that is 100% compatible with OEM & Tier1 supplier’s plant requirements.

The I3 Measurement Cell configurations have been developed to provide great flexibility and modularity to handle various part and assembly sizes. The I3 Measurement Cells have been designed to reduce expensive product exclusive tooling costs, tooling tryout costs, and production monitoring costs. With the use of this system in early assembly production tryouts, you will be provided with user friendly data and analysis tools to improve fit and finish, and also reduce the launch time frame.
